Died in April 29, 2013, JEAN BEDEL NORODOM has touched the university in his own way. It is not the duration in an institution which makes a university scholar but it is the quality of teacher which is measured to the number of disciples he trained. It is true Dr. JEAN BEDEL NORODOM has not yet attains intellectual notoriety which he thought he still has the time since he was just forty-six years. That would have been the case if he had some years again to live. His brain enriched ideas, projects and books. He has already produced one; the copy of the second was already undergoing re-editing when death took him away from our affection. The intellectual unfolding works of this dear deceased were not only limited to these two books. He had others and was talking that they are intellectual bombs which would explore in their time. For haven been acquaintance with him, I can affirm that he had projects, talent and necessary intellectual resources. Historian in international relation whose horizon dilated to the practice of new history, he bequeaths to present and future generations a book which immortalizes him to the pantheon of publications; entitled Regional integration in central Africa (1916-1960). An analysis of stake out advanced by France, we consider this specialized book to be a wager that only the homage in the France of these contributions can witness our attachment to him and to him external memory. This book has neither organic unit nor the leading paths; it is a polyphony made of diverse instruments at the wish of inspiration from one another. It comprises of 14 chapters. It is the proof that intellectual militantism mobilizes great thinkers beyond their disciplinary domains.

Jean KOUFAN MENKENE is a historian associate professor in History of international relations in the University of Yaoundé 1 and teacher lecturer associated to institute of International Relations of Cameroon (IRIC). He is author of about fifty articles on international relations and co-author of two books which are: inventory of historic sources of regional integration in central Africa and Europe –Africa relations, published in 1999, Yaoundé, University of Yaoundé presses, and from agricultural urgency in Cameroon, published in 2011, Paris, Harmattan
